My concept was to hack the design of playing cards. However, I still wanted people to recognise the new design as ‘playing cards.' I kept the 4 iconic suits but changed the material and shape of the playing cards.
WHAT IF PLAYING CARDS WERE 3D LIKE POKER CHIPS?
I hacked the system by changing the material of the playing cards. My first hack was to convert cards into 3D chips. The look and feel of the playing cards would be like poker chips but the content remains the same. This way the cards are still recognisable. My second hack was to create fragile cards made of glass.
WILL THIS CHANGE THE WAY THE GAME IS PLAYED?
OUTCOME | I 3D printed the 3D chips and used a laser cutter to make the fragile cards. Both were made using acrylic for experimentation purposes.
